Medicare Advantage (Part C) is a private Medicare system run by insurance carriers.

When you elect an Advantage plan you are no longer in traditional Medicare but in a private system. Your medical provider files claims with the carrier, not Medicare. You should know that most Advantage plans have networks. If you use a non-par provider you either have no coverage at all or you have higher deductibles, higher copay's and higher out of pocket.

Advantage plans have a LOT of moving parts and a LOT of out of pocket.

They are great plans UNTIL you get sick.
