When you are in an HMO you must stay in a network of doctors and health care providers, otherwise you are not covered unless you have an emergency. When selecting your Medicare Advantage Plan it is crucial that you make sure your doctors and hospitals are in your network. Also if you travel outside of your area for a few months out of the year, many Ohio residents have homes in Florida, for example and live in Florida during the winter, make sure your plan has a program that will allow you move your network to that state. United Healthcare and Aetna have such programs.Answered on April 24, 2013flag this answer
