Hello! This question is a doozey!
By law, Medicare does not cover prescription vitamins. The notable exceptions are prenatal vitamins and certain vitamin D analogs used for medically acceptable purposes. In some cases, vitamins that are verified by a health professional as "medically necessary" can qualify for Medicare coverage. A request must be made for a formulary exception to be signed by a licensed health professional.
    Whew! Thanks for the opportunity!
