My friend wrecked my truck, my insurance sent out a check for it to be fixed. I traded in my truck before it was fixed. Do I send back the insurance check? Or is it still mine to use?
Got An Insurance Check For My Truck To Be Fixed, But Traded The Truck Prior To Fixing. Can I Keep The Check?
- 447 POINTSview profileThad BynumOwner/ Partner, Bynum Insurance Agency, Inc, Clayton, GAAs long as the check is made out to you and the lienholder if any is satisfied then the money would be yours to keep. On the other hand, if you traded in the truck at a dealership that was anticipating the repair money then you should have a discussion with them first. In any event the insurance company is not expecting the check returned.Answered on December 26, 2016flag this answer
