As of June 1, 2010 Medigap policies no longer can offer coverage for outpatient prescription drugs.
Federal requlation requires that all Medicare beneficiaries have creditable prescription drug coverage.
There are four ways to accomplish this:
Drug coverage via an employer plan or retirement medical plan through a prior employer.
Drug coverage via a Union retiree health plan.
Veteran's Administration (VA) drug coverage, available to certain veterans.
A Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan.
