Is Medigap And Supplemental Insurance The Same?
- 981 POINTSview profileJeffrey VanCleveMarketing Director, JLS Marketing Concepts LTD, Canton, OHMedigap insurance is the same thing a a Medicare supplement. This form of insurance is designed to "supplement the gaps" in coverage of original Medicare (Parts A and B). "Supplemental" insurance is a term used however for any insurance that supplements, i.e. completes or enhances, some other insurance coverage. For example, a hospital indemnity or short term care insurance policy is also "supplemental" to Medicare insurance, however not the same as Medigap. It's a good idea to find a licensed insurance agent experienced in Medicare and supplemental health plans to assess your needs and objectives and provide optimal solutions for you in this area.Answered on November 26, 2014flag this answer
