Once you are eligible for Medicare Insurance Medigap comes into play. Medicare covers 80 percent of your medical bills and the Medigap Insurance covers the other 20 percent for the most part based on what the medicare covers. In many policies of Medigap it also covers some amounts outside the US. Medicare would not cover anything outside the US. Generally Medigap covers $50000 outside the US border.
