    You can use a Roth IRA to accumulate money for college. The withdrawal will not trigger the penalty tax. A Roth 401(K) is a plan developed by your employer. Each employer establishes criteria to determine when withdrawal might be taken. You would need to consult with the plan document. You will need to include any money used to pay college expenses on the FAFSA the following year.
