   Insurance products, Homeowners Insurance included, are regulated on the state level. Each state has an Insurance Department which is part of the executive administrative departments of the state government. These are usually if not always overseen by an appointed Insurance Commissioner. These departments handle everything insurance related from company and broker licensing, company filing approvals and management of state insurance regulations.
