    Unfortunately, there isn't one company that is best in the immediate annuity marketplace. Different companies are more and/or less competitive depending on demographics. A company might have better rates for women than men or for someone in their 60s versus someone in their 80s. Some companies also offer inflation adjustments while some don't. Some companies even allow some access to monies already annuitized. It really depends on the person and their situation. It is best to work with an independent broker that can show you some of the top companies with the top rates so that you can pick what is best for your situation.

    Who has the best immediate annuity? Well, last year, last month, last week, yesterday, today, tomorrow? Rates change, companies move from best to 5th or 6th place in a week. You have to simply take other factors in beyond todays rates for your choice. Financial strength is important to look at as you want your annuity company to live longer than you do. What might be better is to pick from 3-5 companies whom you trust their financials and terms and as you get close to your move, make your decision.
