The question is way too 'general'. More details are needed to provide any type of details. Under the liability section of a homeowners policy there is coverage for an insured for Bodily Injury Liability. If an insured (as defined by the policy) is legally liable for the death of another person there may be a valid claim. It could be a civil case or a criminal case and any coverage would be determined by the coverages and perils provided by the insurance contract. The only way to really give a factual answer would entail having a copy of the policy and then fielding the question as per the specifics of the occurrence. There are too many states and too many individual carrier policies to provide any 'pat' answers to this question.
