How Long Does A Car Insurance Company Have To Settle A Claim?
- 14231 POINTSview profileTom SheehanAgency Owner, The Thomas G Sheehan Agency, 27 Glen Road Sandy Hook, CT 06482The claims settlement process can vary depending upon the extent and severity of the loss. For example, a fairly simple collision loss with no other property damage or bodily injury can usually be settled within anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks depending upon the schedule of the body shop and availability of parts. If additional property damage is involved either with another car or a building or the like, it could take a bit longer and certainly if there is bodily injury that results in a law suit, then those settlements can take upwards of a few years.Answered on June 6, 2014flag this answer
