    No, not until you are legally married.  Your fiancé may feel like they are already dependent upon you and you may feel that way too but being engaged does not meet the legal requirements of being spouse and therefore qualifying for coverage as a dependent on either a group or individual major medical plan.

    That is a great question! Unfortunately, the answer is not so great.  In the eyes of the insurance company, there is no guarantee that you will end up marrying your fiancé. Because of that, they are leery of adding someone to a policy that might end up getting cancelled. To prevent that, they have some pretty solid rules about who can be listed on your policy.
