    If the mole is non-cancerous, most health insurance policies will not cover removal. Health insurance plans cover most "medically necessary" conditions and SOME cosmetic procedures.

    Removal of a mole strictly for cosmetic reasons will most likely result in a claim that is denied.

    Examples of cosmetic procedures that may be covered include reconstructive surgery to repair damage caused by injury. Breast reconstructive surgery following removal of a cancerous growth is another example.
