Comprehensive is the more broadly defined of the two elements that make up the Physical Damage portion of a car insurance policy, the other element being Collision. Collision provides coverage for damages sustained by your car if involved in an accident with another motor vehicle, a stationary object or a human being. Comprehensive provides coverage for all other named perils including vandalism.Answered on April 3, 2014flag this answer
