What Is Ideal Auto Insurance Coverage?
- 37376 POINTSview profileDavid G. Pipes, CLU®, RICP®Business Development Officer, T.D. McNeil Insurance Services, Fresno, CaliforniaThe ideal coverage will pay any claim you incur with a minimum of hassle and as little of your cash as possible. That means that the liability limits of the policy need to be as high as you can afford. If the car is less than eight years old it needs to have comprehensive and collision insurance with the lowest deductibles that you can afford. If rental car reimbursement and towing are available, get it. In all cases take out uninsured and underinsured motorist limits that match the limits that you carry for others.Answered on March 27, 2014flag this answer

This is your biggest protection point. Beyond that everything else is optional. If you auto has value that you cannot replace out of pocket I recommend uninsured/under insured motorist, comprehensive, collision, medical, rental car reimbursement and towing. There are additional coverage's still available if you have done modifications on your vehicle.Answered on March 28, 2014flag this answer
