What Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Is Best?
- 981 POINTSview profileJeffrey VanCleveMarketing Director, JLS Marketing Concepts LTD, Canton, OHThere is no universal "best" Part D prescription drug plan. You do want a plan though that "best" suits your needs and objectives. For instance, you want a plan that will provide coverage for prescription drugs that you are already taking, or might be expecting to take due to a condition you currently have. You can check this easily on the Medicare.gov website - Find health & drug plans, which will check a plan formulary (list of covered drugs) for you. You may also want a plan that uses a pharmacy network convenient for you, and a plan that optimally meets your budget and planned usage needs. While Medicare.gov provides the information and ability to enroll online, you may be better served to get assistance from a licensed insurance agent authorized to sell Part D plans.Answered on March 14, 2014flag this answer
- 2330 POINTSview profileSteve AdlmanOwner, Alabama Medicare Plans, Birmingham, AlabamaThere is not one plan that is clearly better than any other plan. The best plan is the one that offers you the best coverage and lowest co-pays based on the medications you are taking. You should not choose your drug plan based on premium or what plan your spouse or a friend is enrolled in. Choose the plan that offers you the best coverage based on your medications.Answered on February 15, 2017flag this answer
