What Does My Homeowners Insurance Cover?
- 14231 POINTSview profileTom SheehanAgency Owner, The Thomas G Sheehan Agency, 27 Glen Road Sandy Hook, CT 06482It is always a good idea to talk to your Insurance Professional about the specific terms and conditions of your policy, but most modern Homeowners Insurance provide protection from a very broad variety of covered perils. So much so, it is almost easier to explain the two common things that it does not cover. The two most common exclusions in a Homeowners policy are for damage caused by Earth Movement and damage caused by Flood. In most cases, coverage for earth movement may be endorsed onto your policy but coverage for flood damage is only available by the purchase of a Flood Insurance policy.Answered on September 29, 2014flag this answer

The primary coverages are property and liability. Depending upon the form being used the residence, contents, attached structures and non-attached structures on the property are covered against damage from specific perils. The liability coverage pays for legal defense and judgments arising from personal injury or property damage to the limits of the policy. This package provides value and covers most contingencies that come from owning a home.Answered on September 29, 2014flag this answer
