    Medicare will cover corrective surgery that is considered medically necessary. If you have an injury to your nose, Medicare may cover surgery required to return you nose to the "original" condition. In other words, surgery to repair the FUNCTION of the nose, not the appearance.

    Similarly, if you have an illness such as deviated septum or skin cancer that requires surgery (including reconstructive), Medicare will most likely cover the cost of surgery.

    But surgery strictly for cosmetic reasons is not an allowable claim.
