An auto insurance company wants to close every open claim.  To close a claim they must collect all the pertinent information.  What may appear to be an open and shut case might be complicated.  One common problem is that the driver whose car strikes yours acknowledges responsibility at the scene of an accident then later decides that it was your fault.  This can slow down proceedings considerably.
You have access to the adjuster and your agent.  You should be able to move the claim along unless it is stalled by something outside your control.

An Auto Insurance company will pay a claim provided that the coverage is included in your policy, and the circumstances around the loss are included as covered perils in the terms and conditions of that policy. If you are involved in an accident I suggest the following, 1) Do not move the cars. 2) Call the local police. 3) Assuming that the local police will offer this, collect all the pertinent information for the other party including name, address, contact number, year make and model of their car as well as a preliminary accident report. 5) Take a few minutes when you get home to write a short report of the accident. This way, should you be asked for a statement, you are prepared and may read that statement consistently no matter how many times you are asked to provided it. Finally, call your Insurance Professional to report the incident and obtain advice and counsel.
