    It may, yes, but it is important to check with your Insurance Professional and discuss the terms and conditions of your particular policy.  In general, if food items are lost from a refrigerator or freezer as a result of a long term power outage AND the cause of that power outage is a covered peril in your policy, then there will be some coverage.  I have seen that in most cases, the amount of coverage is limited, usually to about $500.00 and of course this is subject to your deductible.
