Insurance for your car is your auto policy.   It isn’t your homeowner’s policy.  In fact your homeowner’s policy excludes automobiles.  Where this gets tricky is when someone stores an automobile, thinking that the homeowner’s policy will cover a loss.  It won’t.  If you are storing an automobile and want it covered, take out a policy that provides comprehensive insurance.  Several clients do this and then activate the liability and collision parts of the policy when they take the car out for a “spin.”
