If Snow Falls Off My Roof And On My Deck And It Collapses Is It Covered?

My concern about the question, however, is that it would take a huge amount of snow or a deck that needs attention for such a thing to happen. If your deck is in disrepair and there is evidence of samage that has occured over an extended period of time, it might be possible that such a claim would be denied. It is always best to check your particular situation with your insurance professional and with this winter upon us, now would be a great time to do that.Answered on December 16, 2013flag this answer

Snow removal off a roof is some times an issue but on the deck itself you should be able to shovel it off. What concerns me is that perhaps your deck was a DIY project and you missed one key construction concept. The deck should not be a free standing structure and should be securely attached to the house. If you feel that it is not secure to the house, then that is a more serious issue you need address before friends and family take a risk of falling and injuring themselves severely.Answered on December 17, 2013flag this answer
