Children can be on their parents' health insurance plans until they are 26 years old. However, it may be more cost effective at a certain point before then to have them go on their own individual plan or group plan through their employer if they are employed.

You should consult with an experienced health insurance broker regarding your family's insurance plan benefits and costs to determine the if there is a more suitable program for your family's specific needs.

That is a great question! The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) extended the length of time your kids can be covered to the age of 26. It was extended to help cover college kids who may otherwise not have been able to afford care. If your child is working, and their employer offers health insurance coverage, they may be obligated to sign up for that coverage, and be dropped from yours. Check with your agent, and see if that is the case for you. Thanks for asking!
