    The key to a successful claim is records.  Photographic, scanned, or paper.  If you can verify the condition of your home and the complete list of contents you are almost already “home.”  Few home claims have that information.  It only takes a few minutes to get prepared for the claim.  Take photos or use a video camera but get a record.  Keep the record where it won’t be destroyed with the home.
