Can I Go To Any Doctor With Medicare?
- 1805 POINTSview profileSamuel SmithEnrolled Agent-licensed to practice before the IRS, Samuel N Smith, EA, South CarolinaI am going to answer your question by qualfying what I think you are asking. Under original medicare as long as the doctor is contracted to accept medicare then you can basically go to any doctor. What if you live in Detroit and you prefer to go to a doctor in California? Medicare is going to want to know why when you live in Detroit and you are seeing a doctor in California. Under the Medicare Advantage Plans you need to understand the terms HMO, PPO, PFFS, in order to assure you are getting the care in "network".Answered on November 17, 2013flag this answer
