Most Fixed Annuities cost nothing. Meaning that they have no fees that deduct from the account or that you have to pay out of pocket.

Some Fixed Annuities do offer Riders that you pay a yearly fee for. These Riders usually guarantee a lifetime of income, a death benefit, or provide some other enhanced benefit. The fee is usually taken as a percentage of the Account Value. Fees can be as low as 0.2% all the way to slightly over 1%, it all depends on the benefit chosen and the company.

Variable Annuities do automatically come with fees. They charge a M&E fee along with investment expenses. Consult a Variable Annuity Agent for specific info.
