What Is Own Specialty Disability Insurance?
- 63333 POINTSview profilePeggy MaceMost of the U.S.Own Specialty Disability Insurance is the feature of a Disability Insurance policy that enables a physician to receive the benefit if unable to perform the duties of their own specialty. E.g. If a surgeon develops Parkinson's Disease and is unable to control hand tremors enough to perform delicate surgery, they would collect on their DI policy even if they are still able to see patients in a clinic. It is similar to "own occupation" clause for persons who are not physicians.Answered on October 9, 2013flag this answer
