    When you are working with a licensed Insurance Professional and that person is granted binding authority by the company they represent, once you complete the application, sign it and pay your initial premium, you are covered under the terms and conditions of that company's auto insurance policy.  In other words, coverage is activated effctive the selected start date right away.
