    A good place to start is to use a search engine and simply search on the words, "disability insurance". However, many life insurance agencies sell disability insurance and may not show up, so going to a life insurance agency that sells many products is another avenue to buy disability insurance. To find a local agency, simply add your city to the search.

    I agree with Peggy's statement above.  The internet is a resourceful tool when trying to find an agent in your area!  Also, if you have a company in mind, they can recommend an agent in your area who is already contracted with their company.  Regardless, when you find an agent, whether it be via the internet or a life agent in your area, make sure you ask for multiple quotes from various carriers.  Your agent should be able to show you several options.  Don't be too fixated on cost, but instead have your agent thoroughly explain the provisions of the policy. Cheaper doesn't mean better, nor does the most expensive mean the best!
