Do I Need Connecticut Insurance To Register A Car In Connecticut?
- 14231 POINTSview profileTom SheehanAgency Owner, The Thomas G Sheehan Agency, 27 Glen Road Sandy Hook, CT 06482The simple answer is yes, you will need to show proof of a CT issued car insurance policy in order to register your car. CT doesn't particularly care about Comp and Collision coverage, but your finance company will. When you buy your CT insurance, you will receive an Identification Card that certifies that you are carying at least the minimum amount of Liability insurance that is required here, namely $20,000 per person, $40,000 per accident for Bodily Injury and $10,000 for property damage. As I said, this is the current minimum requirement set by law. Talk to your insurance professional about other options that will protect you more fully.Answered on August 29, 2013flag this answer
