    Tax deferred, guaranteed fixed annuities offer a fixed interest rate over a fixed period of time, i.e. 5, 7 or 10 years as an example. The interest rate is credited to the annuity policy and accumulates tax deferred until distributions, when gain is taxed as ordinary income at the annuity owners effective tax bracket.
