Long Term Disability is for those who are employed, and the benefit they receive would replace part of the income lost by suffering a long term disability. Long Term Care is for those who are in need of skilled care, and the benefit received either goes straight to the institution providing the care, or to the person receiving the care, to use as they wish.Answered on July 2, 2013flag this answer
