Can I Switch From Medicare Advantage To Medigap?
- 63333 POINTSview profilePeggy MaceMost of the U.S.Yes, you can switch from Medicare Advantage to Medigap. To do so, you must first disenroll from your Medicare Advantage plan. Then you must enroll in original Medicare. If anyone asks you to buy a Medigap policy without being enrolled in original Medicare, you should report them. If you have never used Medigap before and you had Medicare Advantage for under a year, you can have your choice of Medigap policies.Answered on July 12, 2013flag this answer

People who have a Medicare Advantage plan can only switch once a year during that annual enrollment period. A special circumstance to that would be if the insurance company did away with your plan during the year. Unlike people with a Medigap Plan that can switch anytime of the year that benefits them.Answered on August 9, 2014flag this answer
