What Is Usually Covered Under Renters Insurance?
- 37376 POINTSview profileDavid G. Pipes, CLU®, RICP®Business Development Officer, T.D. McNeil Insurance Services, Fresno, CaliforniaA renter’s policy normally has four sections. The first section is personal property. This section promises to provide either like items or new items for those damaged by a “covered peril,” such as fire. The second section is called incidental property coverages which include things like emergency removal of your property from the rental unit to prevent loss from a covered peril, fire department service charges, debris removal, credit card, forgery and additional coverages. The third section is personal liability and provides for your defense and damages up to the limits of the policy for personal injury and property damage lawsuits. The last section is incidental liability and provides limited coverage to property of others damaged by you. There are other coverages built into the package.Answered on May 30, 2014flag this answer
