Long term care insurance can pay for A LOT, including the following: home health care, assisted living facility care, nursing home care, adult day care, personal care (Activities of daily living assistance), homemaker services, hospice services, respite care, etc. The need for long term care can occur due to aging, disease or even an accident. According to the 2014 U.S. government Medicare handbook, 70% of Americans who reach age 65 will need long term care and support at some point in their lives.
