A homeowner’s policy covers damage caused by a named peril. If the cracks in the foundation are the result of a specified peril, fire, wind, hail etc. the loss would be covered. There are perils that are not included such as earth movement. Earth movement would be the most likely cause of a crack in the foundation. Please consult with your agent prior to filing a claim.
