More than likely no because a driveway is not considered a covered "structure" under the Homeowners' policy. Further, in many cases, driveway damage is caused by some form of settling of the earth under the pavement. Since earth movement tends to be a standard exclusion in a Homeowners policy, any damage resulting from that also would not be covered.

The standard homeowner policy only responds to unforeseen losses caused by covered perils. Therefore, a policyholder could expect his or her homeowner policy to cover damages caused by covered perils.

For example, one of the most common covered causes of damages to a driveway might be 'damage caused by a vehicle'. Of course, the deductible would be applied in the assessment of the amount of damages.

Always think: What is the cause of the loss? Then: Is it covered under my policy.

Your independent insurance agent can help you determine coverage situations.
