If the car was left to you specifically, or you are the executor of the estate, you might be able to file the claim. If you are not, then whomever that person is will need to do it. Is the policy still in force? Unfortunately it is far too common that someone passes away, and their insurance lapses because payments weren&#039;t made to continue it. If that is the case, then no claim can be filed. Your Grandfather&#039;s insurance company may also get difficult if they weren&#039;t properly notified of his passing.
